One of the highest points is Rocca Salvateste on the Novara peak and continues with a small plain to the top of Mount Scuderi, ending at Dinnammare, the closest peak to the city.<br \/>\nThis itinerary offers extraordinary scenarios in every season of the year; in spring the citrus trees are still full of fruits and flowers, called &#8220;zagara&#8221;, which inebriate the air with their delicate scent. The view offers an alternation of rugged mountains, green valleys, rocky walls surrounded by flowery meadows and cultivated fields and the view of the two seas, the Ionian and the Tyrrhenian, divided by the Peloritani mountain ridge. Going South, after Dinnammare, you can follow a road that leads to Castanea, you can see the snow-capped peak of Etna, while from the northernmost point the view sweeps from the lighthouse over the Strait of Messina up to the two lakes of Faro and Ganzirri , which appear to the eye as two shining eyes in the middle of the houses. Looking west you see Capo Milazzo, a white promontory in the middle of the Tyrrhenian Sea with all the Aeolian Islands in view.
